Another day passes. Another day here. Another day here on Mars. I look up at the dusty sky and think. 

A signal. From Earth. From Home. the home I left all those may years ago. They are saying something, something about my sister. I listen in. 

I gasp! 

The news is shocking. My sister is dead. I listen on. Our home has been trying to contact my sister for over a year. She had been stuck in mud some years back and our home had decided that she would stay put and work from her place. 

Then winter. My sister could not raise her solar panels to reach the winter sun. The cold. It was the cold that killed her. 

I cry. My heart aches for her. We haven’t seen each other in years. We were sent to opposite sides of the planet and could never meet. 

Spirit, I miss you. Your sister, Opportunity, misses you.
